Rick Ferguson founded the company in 2003. Rick graduated from the University of Portland with a BS in mechanical engineering and has over 30 years in the industry. Rick’s career started on the customer side of the fence working for a large supermarket chain in refrigeration. “I built the business around servicing needs not met when working with large organizations.” Rick’s parents instilled in him the value of always giving the customer more value than you charge for – a value that permeates R3’s core values. Rick enjoys golfing, going to Portland Timbers games and exploring innovative technology.
Suzanne Ferguson joined the R3 team in 2015, and heads up operations, marketing and finance for the company. She holds an M.B.A. from Willamette University and a BS from Eastern Oregon University in Business. She brings a continuous improvement mindset to the company along with years of experience in program development and customer service. Suzanne is instrumental in developing and streamlining the company’s processes. Suzanne enjoys gardening, camping, and expresses herself creatively through painting. She loves spending time with family and fur babies Indy and Max and enjoys traveling.
Christian Alexander joined the R3 team in 2017 and made a significant impact in his first year, handling more than 60 retrofit building controls projects. He is just a few months away from obtaining his BS degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University. Christian also manages a portfolio of new construction building control projects. He resides in Vancouver, Washington with his wife and enjoys living a sustainable food lifestyle by gardening, preserving and raising chickens. Christian grew up in Spokane, Washington and enjoys traveling to spend time with his family there whenever possible.
Travis Rider is a Las Vegas native, and following in the footsteps of his father, has become an expert in the field of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration. With over 30 years of experience in the HVAC and Refrigeration industry and a degree from Southern Nevada Vocational Technical Center (VoTech), Travis puts his knowledge in supermarket operations to work at R3 Retail Development by providing technical support and repair expertise for both HVAC&R and EMS to customer staff and subcontractors to achieve optimum system performance and energy efficiency.
